The main science goals of the VISTA Magellanic Clouds Deep (VMCDeep) survey are to resolve stars fainter than the red clump, and to quantify features associated with the star formation, kinematics and structures of the galaxies by using deep imaging observations of the inner regions of the Clouds. The data provides single-filter and band-merged calibrated images and catalogues. The VMC survey is strongly linked and complementary to other spectroscopic and photometric surveys of the Magellanic System, which will benefit from each other, providing a new, complete and absolutely unique view of this system.
